Andrew Pack

Where are you from?
Bellingham, Washington, is home. However, I spentÌýmost of my adult life and ministry career in Seattle proper.

Family?Ìý
I am married to Tanya and we have six wonderful kidsÌýand one boxer.

Do you have a favorite class or one you’re especially lookingÌýforward to teaching?
I love teaching anything where our theology informs the practical outworking of our life and ministry practice. I’m teachingÌýHermeneutics and Biblical Theology for the Bay Area Cohort and weÌýhave experienced a lot of praxis in that learning community. I am aÌýhuge fan of teaching Christian spirituality and biblical theology typeÌýclasses because at their core these courses are about understandingÌýwhat Jesus is doing in history and what it means to live in His reality.

What do you do outside of work (hobbies, interests)?
My family and I love getting outside in the Northwest. We millÌýour own wheat and grow a number of fermented foods on ourÌýcountertop (e.g., sourdough, kombucha, yogurt, sauerkraut). IÌýplay experimental electric guitar.

What’s your church involvement / ministry experience?
I have been in ministry in the Pacific Northwest for almost 15Ìýyears. I have primarily served in preaching/teaching, discipleship,Ìýmissiology, and church planting ministries. I have both plantedÌýchurches and lead church planting ministries. Training churchÌýplanters has been one of the great joys of my ministry life.

What are you most excited for at Western?
I am thrilled to give access to theological education focusedÌýon gospel-centered transformation to people around theÌýNorthwest and the world. As the Director of Online Learning,ÌýI love thinking through creative ways to connect students toÌýtheir faculty and to each other. I love coming alongside studentsÌýwhere Jesus has already sent them and help them grow on theirÌýministry journey.
